I have lived in McKinney for a couple years now, but I am a foodie! I have tried MOST restaurants in McKinney and I narrowed down the best places to eat to the following:
Rick’s Chophouse - Located in Downtown McKinney. The food is on point! From Steaks, to burgers, to salads. I recommend their burger for lunch anytime! Their Chophouse salad is great too. The service is always great. Great place to meet friends or have a meeting. You can also rent out their back rooms to have a party or a meeting for work.
Gregory’s Bistro - Always has exceptional food and service. The restaurant is beautiful and the food ranges from Sea bass to vegetarian plates full of portobello mushrooms paired with French Green beans. Perfect for a date night.
Eclair Bistro - This is one of McKinney’s newest fine dining establishments. It is a french restaurant that is one of the top emerging restaurants in North Dallas. They feature seasonal ingredients that combines French Cuisine with Contemporary influences of New Orleans. Another perfect restaurant for date night!
Snug on the Square - This is a little gem. Perfect for breakfast or lunch. This place started off small and had to expand into two locations because of how busy they got! Now one side is a coffee shop and the other side is where you can order food. It’s perfect for meetings or an outing with the family. Sit outside and enjoy the view of downtown historic McKinney. The food is always delicious.
Hutchin’s BBQ and Grill - This is an original. The best BBQ in town! Cafeteria style. I recommend the Turkey legs, they are amazing! You get endless dessert at the end. They opened up a second location in Frisco, but I recommend trying the original in McKinney first. They have been in business for nearly four decades now. They smoke their meats over fine pecan and oak wood so you won’t miss out on flavor. Gotta love Texas food Ya’ll!
Harvest - Harvest is a go to for me. Their menu is seasonal and features organic, local and regional products. Their mission is to reward farmers, ranchers, and growers’ efforts. How awesome is that? It’s also located in Downtown McKinney! Perfect spot to grab drinks and meet friends or date night! I love that their menu is constantly changing and updating.
Sugar Bacon - One of my all time favorite restaurants. Their menu is huge so you really can’t go wrong. They have this sugar bacon appetizer that is out of this world. Everything is made from scratch. My favorite part of this restaurant has to be their desserts, it’s delicious! It’s also located in Downtown McKinney.
Cavalli Pizzeria Napoletana - The closest things to Italian pizza is right here in McKinney in the Adriatica Neighborhood. They have a wood-fired searing 900 degree oven, just like the pizza of Naples Italy where they have been making perfect pizza for hundreds of years. I have been to Italy, and honestly, this pizza is spot on! They have the best happy hour too! You can get ½ off appetizers. Their Texas Heat pizza is amazing and I recommend it to anyone! For lunch, you can’t go wrong with their sandwiches.
Harry’s at the Harbor - I love that this place is locally owned and operated. They also have an amazing view of the lake right in Adriatica. Their food is great and it’s a perfect place for the family or date night. You can also watch sports at the bar! The service is always great!
Del Sur Grill - This is a little hidden gem inside of a gas station. Authentic mexican in a gas station? Yes! Seriously, go try it. It’s on the corner of Eldorado Pkwy, and Lake Forest Drive. If you drive, you will miss it unless you look carefully! 4.5 stars on Yelp with 146 reviews. All these people surely can’t be wrong? I recommend their breakfast burrito or their street tacos. Delicious! You want california mexican food? Look no further!
Hugs Cafe - This place is so amazing. Their cause and everything they do. Their mission is to create an inviting place of training and employment for adults with special needs while providing dignity, self-worth and developing respect in the community. They have wonderful food and amazing service. Everything is fresh and perfect. Also located in Downtown McKinney
The Donut Kitchen Best donuts in town! Fruity pebble donut? Red velvet? Yes! They also have lunch that is amazing too! Located in Stonebridge. Get here early while the donuts are fresh! I could seriously eat a dozen.
Local Yocal Farm to Market Local and fresh! Rancher-owned butcher shop and local goods market. Their meats are free of hormones, steroids and antibiotics. Specializing in Grass-Fed, Premium Wagyu and DNA Verified 100% Angus beef. You can tell when you eat their food the freshness.
